Mariah Carey is an icon to many, but the mega-star decided to pay tribute to one of her favorite artists.
The 45-year-old singer shared a throwback photo with the late Whitney Houston for #FlashbackFriday, sharing a sweet message alongside the nostalgic snap.
“#FBF Forever an icon. #WhitneyHouston #icon #moments #whenyoubelieve,” she wrote on Instgram.
The photograph was taken in 1998 when the two performed the duet, “When You Believe.” The song was featured in the DreamWorks film, The Prince of Egypt.
Houston died in 2012 after accidently drowning in a bathtub.
Both Houston and Carey are idols to many of their fellow famous singers – watch a 22-year-old Celine Dion talk about both pop stars in the throwback ET interview from 1990, below.
