While The Walking Dead remains as gruesome as ever with Sunday night's episode, a New Mexico man beat his friend to for death after binge-watching the popular AMC show.
The Grants Police Department issued a statement to ET that 23-year-old Damon Perry was arrested on Thursday in Prewitt, New Mexico, after killing his friend while they were drunk. Perry told police that his friend was "turning into a zombie."

Police arrived after 911 calls reported a man running around the apartment complex threatening people with a knife, where they found the as-of-yet unidentified victim, whom Perry alleges was trying to "bite him," according to police.
Perry allegedly responded by brutally beating the victim with among other items, an electric guitar and microwave oven. He has been charged with an open count of murder and is currently being detained in the Cibola County Detention Center.

The zombie show is in its sixth season, airing currently on Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
