Jeremy Jackson is seeking treatment after being charged with assault with a deadly weapon earlier this month.

The Baywatch alum, who played Hobie Buchannon on the series, was released from jail on bond on Tuesday, and his lawyer tells ET that the actor is heading straight to a rehabilitation center within the same day. Jackson's lawyer says the treatment is voluntary, not court ordered.

Jackson was arrested following an alleged August 6 incident, in which he was accused of arguing with a woman in Los Angeles after allegedly attempting to steal her boyfriend's car. The situation reportedly escalated, and Jackson was accused of stabbing the woman in the back, arm and leg.

The 35-year-old has pleaded not guilty to the charge and is due back in court for a hearing on Nov. 20.

The legal drama comes less than one year after a separate but similar incident in April, in which Jackson was arrested after allegedly stabbing a man in L.A.

Less than year before that, in July 2014, Jackson opened up to ET about his involvement in a brawl at a Malibu house party thrown by Paris Hilton.

"As soon as [my friend] let me go, somebody hit me over the face with a vodka bottle...At this point, I still have my hands in the air, my back is against the door…No matter what [they] do I'm not going to freak out…And then I'm outside…[and] some nameless friend, Barron [Hilton's] buddy, runs outside, kicks me in the chest... I fall back, slam against a Ferrari that's parked outside," Jackson claimed.

"[Paris] was in the gaggle of the geese that were being mean to me," he continued. "That were squawking at me, putting me down, verbally attacking me, shaming me."

Police were called to the incident, but no arrests were made.

Hilton tweeted about the situation at the time, alleging that an intruder "barged into my home uninvited and put 2 of my friends in the hospital when he was told to leave."

Untrue Rumors online. This man barged into my home uninvited & put 2 of my friends in the hospital when he was told to leave. Was so scary:(

Jackson has openly struggled with substance abuse issues in the past, appearing on Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew in 2011.
