Trevor Noah is the latest late night host to be hospitalized.

The new Daily Show host underwent an emergency appendectomy early Wednesday morning, causing today's taping to be canceled while he recovers. In announcing the news, the program's Twitter handle jokingly tweeted, "We wish @TrevorNoah a speedy recovery from his time in an American hospital."

"We're happy to report the procedure went well and he is recuperating from surgery," said the show in a statement. "As a result, The Daily Show will air an encore tonight. We expect he and the show will be back with an original episode tomorrow."

Meanwhile, Jimmy Fallon has found himself in the emergency room a couple of times this year, most recently with a hand injury in October, caused by the Tonight Show host tripping while trying to present a bottle of Jagermeister to his house band, the roots, as an award. The whole mishap was caught on video.
