Rob Lowe, the Star of TV's 'The Grinder,' Hilariously Explains How the App Grindr Works

Uhhhhhhhhhh, someone might want to explain to Rob Lowe what Grindr is used for.

We’re sure he knows, but in a hilarious tongue-in-cheek skit from Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the star of the new series, The Grinder, says, “I discovered, happily, there’s actually a new social media platform to help congregate people to watch new television shows.”

“Every Tuesday night, millions of Americans are watching The Grinder alone,” Lowe explains in the fake PSA. “Imagine, having to laugh out loud, nonstop, for 30 straight minutes, all by yourself.”

“Now image you don’t have to! Thanks to this very cool new app I discovered, called Grindr. Grindr is a neat networking app that lets guys who like watching The Grinder connect with other guys in their area who also like watching The Grinder. So they can meet up and watch The Grinder. How fun is that?”

If you don’t understand the joke, Grindr is a gay dating/online hookup/who knows app. The one thing this video gets wrong is that there definitely aren’t that many face pictures on Grindr. Anyway, it’s not as funny when you have to explain it.

ET asked Lowe about fans mistaking him being on The Grinderfor being on Grindr and he told us, “It could be a good thing! Look, I’m very current. I’m culturally significant. I could be on the Grindr app.”
