It's clearly an emotional time for the Brown family.

The stars of TLC's Sister Wives recently sat down for a two-hour special, airing Sunday, in which Meri Brown discusses in detail about getting tricked into having an online relationship with a woman. Meri, the first wife of 46-year-old polygamist Kody Brown, admitted to the surprising catfishing incident last month, which she said happened earlier this year.

"I got into this place where I was talking to different people on social media, you know, kind of making friends, and I got into this situation talking to one person, who really made me trust him," Meri, 44, says in a new clip, getting emotional. "He was just saying all the right things -- being kind and being very compassionate and understanding, and I trusted him."

"We kind of just started talking online, and I laughed," she adds, wiping away tears.

Last month, Meri admitted she was "emotional and vulnerable" at the time.

"I never met this person and I regret being drawn into this situation, but I hope because of it I can help others who find themselves in similar circumstances," she told People.

Meri isn't the only one in tears during the TLC special. Kody also breaks down over being able to legally adopt his fourth wife Robyn's three children from a previous marriage. Kody legally married Robyn in December after divorcing his first wife, Meri -- though Meri and Kody are still "spiritually married" -- so that Robyn's children would have access to the same insurance and benefits as the rest of his 14 children. Robyn's currently pregnant with a baby girl, bringing the family’s total number of children to 18.

"There's a sense with the feeling that everything's so perfectly right, you know, after that experience," Kody says. "You know what, it was magical, it was just so surreal and I was spinning, and I was kind of, like, 'Hey listen, there's two lottery tickets left and one of them is the million dollar winner.' You know, I'm just waiting for the other [shoe] to drop."

Last month, Meri tweeted inspirational messages following her catfishing revelation, including a Bible verse from Ephesians 6:11, which reads, "Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes." InTouch reports that Meri’s catfisher was 40-year-old Jackie Overton, who was arrested by the sheriff in Osage County, Oklahoma last month for warrants stemming from Overton’s failure to appear in court on three different traffic violations.
