Jaime King's bold new ink has a special meaning.

The 36-year-old actress recently got an intricate rose tattoo by celebrity tattoo artist Dr. Woo, and showed off the stunning results with her fans on Instagram.

"Just getting down with my brother @dr_woo_ssc -- arguably one of the best artists of our time," King first wrote, giving a hint at her tattoo by posting rose emojis.

She later explained that her new ink is for her two sons, 2-year-old James and 4-month-old Leo Thames.

"A beautiful rose for my babies," she wrote.

King also recently posed with her two sons for photographer Tyler Shields' new series, Decadence, dressed as Marie Antoinette. Shields' Decadence debuts at the Maddox Gallery in London on Feb. 4. "I wanted to give my version of an inside look into what I imagine it would be like if you were able to take a photograph of The Court of The Palace of Versailles and Tuileries Palace, an intimate look inside one of the most fascinating times in history," Shields has said about his highly anticipated new work.

The Sin City actress shared a poem she wrote for Shields' series on Tuesday.

"Please enjoy this brilliant preview of his new series & a poem I have written for this," King wrote. "Just a glimpse into our collaboration of our photography and writing."

I caught u trying to pin your needles to my underwear and sew yourself onto my garments and I didn't really appreciate what you were doing or that I allowed the opening for this

Unmistakable stitch, unmistakably your mark, unmistakably your signature, the streamlined approach to doing nothing stream lined at all but to engross me.

So I shall unmistakably wander, unmistakably question and answer to one voice echoed within the deepest, longest, valleys of my ribs.

Then launch it from the pads of my spine and every tip will become the ever mobile take- off to the Tuileries, the hallways of golden mirrors, the high held in which we come from.

ET caught up with King in late August, when she talked about choosing her good friend, Taylor Swift, to be Leo's godmother.

"It's her loving, her profound, deep...loving and caring, sharing and that’s the reason why I chose her," she gushed about Swift. "Just how much she loves him and cares about him and how much she cares about our family and how much I care about her, it’s a really beautiful thing."
