Jessa 'Duggar' Seewald & Ben Seewald Share Adorable Message to Son Spurgeon

Jessa (Duggar) Seewald and her husband, Ben Seewald, are thankful to be parents to their newborn son, Spurgeon Elliot.

The proud parents shared a sweet blog post on Thanksgiving, sharing their excitement to be “embarking on [the] journey of parenthood.”

“This Thanksgiving, one of the things we are grateful for is our precious son, Spurgeon Elliot,” they wrote. “Knowing how much we love our son already only amazes us all the more that God gave His only Son, Jesus Christ to redeem mankind. We are so thankful for His love and forgiveness extended to all of us.”

“This Thanksgiving we are so happy to be parents,” the note continued. “This Thanksgiving we are so happy to be parents! Children are a blessing from the Lord. As we are embarking on this journey of parenthood, we appreciate all of your prayers. We pray that God would give us the wisdom to be good parents. From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!”

The 23-year-old first-time mom also took to Instagram, to share an adorable photo of Ben, 20, giving Spurgeon a kiss on his forehead. The caption included a sweet message to her husband.

“From his middle of the night diaper changes to his sweet cuddle times with daddy, it melts my heart to see the interaction between you two!" Jessa added. "You're such a good daddy! I can't even begin to put into words how much you mean to me! I'm so happy you're mine. I feel like the most blessed girl on earth!”

The couple welcomed home their bundle of joy on Nov. 5. A few days later, they explained that their son's unique name paged homage to the 19th century theologian, Charles Haddon Spurgeon.
