We haven't even met Negan -- but we're already quaking in our post-apocalyptic boots.
Following Sunday night's action-packed mid-season finale, AMC released a brand new prologue from the second half of season six. The two-minute teaser features Daryl driving with Sasha and Abraham en route to Alexandria, but they're stopped by eight heavily armed men in the middle of the road.
"Why don’t you come on out and join us in the road?" the gang's leader calls out to our trio in the video above. "If you want to resist or try something, that's your choice, I guess -- but we will end your asses. Split you right in two, straight through to the sinuses, so come on."
After demanding Daryl, Sasha and Abraham to hand over their weapons and the keys to their truck, it's clear that these men are member of The Saviors.
"None of those things are yours anymore," the man snarls. "Your property now belongs to Negan."
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Walking Dead comic books, The Saviors are one of the largest and most violent organized survivor groups in the apocalyptic world.
Their leader, Negan -- who will be perfectly played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan -- uses his authority and resources to subjugate other communities into paying tribute to The Saviors, in exchange for protection against zombies.
The Walking Dead returns Sunday, Feb. 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
