After storming off during an sit-down with Dr. Phil in August, troubled actor Nicholas Brendon returned on Tuesday and opened up about his battle with addiction.

Sitting down with Dr. Phil, the former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star revealed that his recent strings of arrests, drunken public outbursts and his failed four-month marriage lead him to attempt suicide.

"I cut my wrists with a steak knife," Brendon revealed. "I think I wanted to be heard. I think I wanted to be helped… Because I think there's a lot of good life to live."

Brendon was arrested in October 2014 at the Tree City Comic Con in Boise, Idaho. The actor was then arrested four more times in 2015 alone -- first in February for reportedly trashing his hotel room in Fort Lauderdale, Florida during a convention. In March, Brendon was again arrested for destroying another hotel room, and in May he was arrested for public intoxication. Most recently, Brendon was arrested in October for allegedly attacking his girlfriend in a hotel room in Sarasota Springs, New York and was charged with third-degree robbery, among other charges.

Brendon spoke with Dr. Phil about the incident, in which he was accused of choking the woman and stealing her car keys. According to Brendon he was not attempting to choke the woman, he just "held her down to get the keys."

"I just felt at that time that my girlfriend shouldn't drive, so I tried to take her keys away," Brendon said.

After several run-ins with the law, Brendon entered rehab for depression and substance abuse in June. The star previously attempted to get treatment for his alcoholism when he entered rehab in 2004.
