According to the Grand County Sheriff's Office, search crews located remains believed to be that of Michael at approximately 10:30 a.m. The search crews were searching the Salt Wash area in Grand County, and the terrain where the body was located is a steep and very rocky area. The search included the use of two helicopters and three drones.

The Sheriff told ET that no weapons were found at the scene. The body was then transported to the Office of the Utah Medical Examiner for positive identification, and to determine the cause of death.

On Sunday, an officer from the Grand County Sheriff's Office told ET that Michael, 30, had been missing for ten days. A 2014 Honda Civic registered in his name was found abandoned about 100 miles north of the shop in Grand County on Nov. 27. According to the sheriff, Michael was last seen on security cameras at a convenience store in Monticello, Utah.

Just two days prior, he was released from jail on Nov. 25 after making bail. The Orange County Sheriff's Department told ET he was arrested for making criminal threats with a shotgun on Nov. 23.

According to the incident report, Michael was arrested after an unnamed female informant called the Sheriff’s Department to report Michael, with whom she says she had a "verbal dispute" on Nov. 11. The report says the informant told deputies that, "she was in fear of him" following the incident.

The Sheriff's Department told ET the informant reported that the dispute escalated when, on Nov. 23, she said she heard a "tapping" on her door, and when she looked out the window, she saw Michael standing in the walkway between her apartment and the parking lot "with a shotgun pressed to his shoulder and the barrel raised parallel to the ground, aiming down the path."

Nov. 23 is also coincidentally the date Kristin gave birth to her third child -- daughter Saylor -- with her husband, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.

"Michael has always been the troubled brother," a source close to the Cavallari family previously told ET.
