The actress said her husband is 'a gift to this world' in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Nikki Reed took to Instagram on Friday to share heartfelt birthday wishes to her husband, Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder, who turned 37 on Tuesday.
“You are my every dream brought to life,” Reed, 27, captioned a black-and-white Instagram pic of a handpainted message of love, featuring two birds sitting side by side. “With our hands pressed together I know that we will always find our way home. You are a gift to this world, a teacher of light and a student of love.”

Reed and Somerhalder married in April, after just nine months of dating, and it seems their love for each other hasn’t slowed one bit.
“You radiate warmth in vibrant reds and deep orange hues,” the actress continued. “I often wonder what it would be like to see autumn arrive through your eyes. Here is to the next 65 years together, holding hands, strolling through the woods, still learning, still listening. Happy happy birthday...I love you.”

The couple, who have their own animal rescue charity, are already “parents” to nine pets, but Somerhalder told ET back in September that he’s ready for fatherhood!
“It’s the most incredible thing to be happy and secure in something,” the actor gushed of married life. “It’s a pretty crazy time and place to bring a child into this turbulent and insane world -- but I really can’t wait to do it and really just love it.”
