Joseph Gordon-Levitt took Yoda’s advice to heart at Monday’s Hollywood premiere for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, donning full green face paint to go in-costume as the legendary Jedi Master.

The 34-year-old hitRECord star went total DIY on the costume, rounding out his look with a white bathrobe, green plastic ears, and, as one tweeter pointed out, Grinch pajama pants.

While Yoda won’t be appearing in the latest Star Wars installment -- the exiled Jedi Master died in Return of the Jedi -- Gordon-Levitt’s costume was a truly epic tribute to one of the franchise’s most beloved characters.

As Yoda himself said, “When nine hundred years old you reach, look as good you will not.”
