Billy Corgan is a dad!
The Smashing Pumpkins frontman -- who now goes by William Corgan -- welcomed his first child with Chloe Mendel on Nov. 16, 2015, announcing the news with a press release on Tuesday. The baby, a boy, is named Augustus Juppiter Corgan.
Mendel, a New York City artist and the daughter of fashion designers Gilles Mendel and Jenny Mui, has been linked to Corgan since 2013, though the couple has kept a very low profile over the years. Corgan and Mendel did step out together on the red carpet for the premiere of Chicagoland in Chicago, Illinois, in March 2014. (Pictured above.)
Earlier this year, Corgan announced that he would be quitting Twitter and directed fans to check out his new digital endeavor, a website titled People and Their Cars. The Tumblr-like blog highlights photos of, yes, people and their cars, in addition to various, seemingly random vintage imagery. (Currently, the site appears to be on a timely holiday kick.)
Anyway, congrats to Corgan and Mendel on their new bundle of joy!
