Enrique Iglesias Concert Organizers Should Be 'Whipped With Toxic Stingray Tails,' Says Sri Lanka's President

The president of Sri Lanka is apparently not a fan of Enrique Iglesias.
According to the BBC, President Maithripala Sirisena was not at all pleased with the "most uncivilized" behavior of concert goers at Iglesias' recent show in Colombo. The performance, held on Dec. 20 at a rugby stadium, reportedly resulted in local women climbing on-stage, kissing Iglesias and throwing undergarments at him. See one woman get a smooch from Iglesias at the 00:37 mark in the fan-shot YouTube video below.
"This is most uncivilized behavior that goes against our culture," Sirisena reportedly said in a public meeting, declaring that event organizers should be "whipped with toxic stingray tails."
"I don't advocate that these uncivilized women who removed their brassieres should be beaten with toxic stingray tails," he added, "but those who organized such an event should be."
ET has reached out to Iglesias' rep for comment.
The event itself was put on by Live Events, which has issued an apology for the show's chaos and delays -- but did not reference Sirisena's comments.
"Although we know an apology or refund cannot fully satiate your disappointment, we wish to reiterate that we remain fully committed to all of you and our country," the statement read. "A full and thorough internal inquiry is ongoing into all areas of concern."
Iglesias, 40, has not publicly acknowledged the criticism, but gushed over the "unbelievable" crowd in an Instagram post. And, for what it's worth, the fans look far from disappointed!
"#SriLanka you were unbelievable tonight. You've given me a million reasons to come back. I loved #Colombo. The video speaks for itself," he wrote.
In another video, he can be seen excitedly arriving in Sri Lanka for the first time. "It's an honor," he captioned the clip.
Now, for some fun, let's look back on Iglesias' 1999 "Bailamos" music video set. ET was with the singer, who explained how Will Smith had a hand in inspiring the sexy hit. Watch below.
