Tiffany Thornton had a heartbreaking holiday season this year, losing her husband, Chris Carney, in a car accident just one month ago.
On Monday, the former Sonny With a Chance star took to Instagram to remember her late husband with a sweet message, penning a heartfelt caption on an image that reads, “Your wings were ready, but my heart was not.”
“Today marks one entire month I've been without you Chris,” Thornton wrote. “As I sit here watching our little guys during their bath time I can't help but think that you should be here, that it's not fair that you had to leave this world so soon, that I was somehow robbed of growing old with you and having more babies with you and celebrating more anniversaries with you.”
“Then I remember you weren't ever truly mine, you were always God's,” she continued. “I was simply borrowing you from your real home, Heaven. And I know no matter how happy you were here on earth it doesn't even compare to the peace and joy you have in Heaven.”
Thornton has been posting memories of Carney on Instagram since his death and throughout the family’s holiday season. On Monday, she also shared a sweet pic of the father of two with their son KJ as an infant, adding the caption, “He was the GREATEST dad.”
Carney, star of the MTV reality show twentyfourseven, was killed in a single-vehicle car crash on U.S. Highway 70 East approximately six miles east of Hot Springs, Arkansas, on Dec. 4. He was 35 years old.
In another photo of Carney with his sons, which Thornton posted the day after his death, the actress called her late husband simply, “My life. My love. My angel.”
