Karina Smirnoff is dancing to a brand new beat.
The former Dancing With the Stars pro has just wrapped production on her newest project, a political comedy titled Swing State, ET has learned.
Smirnoff stars as Lucy Pollard, the wife of a closeted politician (played by Parry Shen), who is an executive for a radio talk show.
"I am so excited to be a part of this project," the 38-year-old Ukrainian-born dancer tells ET. "It's a political comedy which is sharp, quick-witted and has great colorful characters in it!"
"I fell in love with the script right away, [and I'm] so happy to be a part of a special project like this and to do it with amazing and talented people, I can't wait for everyone to see!" she continued.
The film also stars Orange Is the New Black's Taryn Manning. On their Los Angeles-based set, the two snapped an adorable selfie, which Smirnoff shared with ET exclusively. She later posted it to her own Instagram.
Last October, ET caught up with Manning on the red carpet at the 2015 Emmys, where she revealed she'd love to work with one of her Crossroads co-stars again: Britney Spears.
Manning even envisioned Spears locked up in Litchfield Penitentiary on OITNB. "Of course, I want Britney Spears everywhere you can see her," she said. "She's the best."
So what kind of character would the pop star play on the popular Netflix series?
"Um, I mean, I don't have to make up a character -- she's such a good actor that I feel like they could do anything with her," Manning continued.
