Drake Bell could be facing jail time.

The former Nickelodeon star was officially charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Wednesday after his Dec. 22 arrest in Glendale, California. It's allegedly his second DUI offense within the last 10 years, after Bell was previously convicted of a DUI in 2009 in San Diego, California.

According to a court doc obtained by ET, Bell refused to take a chemical test at the time of his most recent arrest and therefore could be subject to additional punishment. The actor is set to be arraigned on March 21 and could face up to a year in county jail if convicted. A spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office tells ET that, if convicted, a second DUI would carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 96 hours in county jail.

At the time of Bell's arrest, Glendale police said they pulled him over around 2 a.m. after seeing his car swerving and speeding after abruptly stopping at a red light. An officer also claimed to smell alcohol coming from the vehicle.
