The 23-year-old singer has recently been rocking a diamond ring on that finger -- and it looks strikingly similar to the engagement ring she received from Liam Hemsworth in 2012. On Tuesday, ET caught up with the ring's designer, Neil Lane, who vividly recalls creating the solitaire sparkler.
"Sometimes when it looks like it, and looks like it, and looks like it -- it looks like it!" Lane teased ET's Carly Steel when asked if he could confirm whether Cyrus' bauble is, in fact, her engagement ring. "It looks just like it."
Lane recalled creating the stunning piece along with Hemsworth, gushing over the actor's "amazing taste."
"It was really special," he said. "I found that 19th century stone -- really, really pretty, magical stone -- [Liam] wanted something in gold. He wanted something really special and one of a kind."
Lane said that he didn't know whether Cyrus and Hemsworth were officially back on -- but as ET previously reported, the singer was spotted with a U-Haul truck outside Hemsworth's home in Malibu, California, over the weekend. The pair was previously engaged before going their separate ways in September 2013.
"They say she's never really parted with the ring, she's kept it very precious," Lane admitted. "That's what I've heard, I don't know that from her, [but] it's back on her finger, on the [correct] hand, on the ring finger."
Whether or not the former couple has actually reunited, Lane wishes only the best for them.
"I wish them lots of luck and lots of success," he said. "Every time I made a ring, it's really based on love and affection and someone's future. I put a lot of love in those rings."
Cyrus is hardly the only celeb to don a coveted piece by Lane. The jeweler to the stars and red carpet favorite has worked with A-listers like Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, Sofia Vergara, Angelina Jolie, Madonna, and Jennifer Lawrence, among others. Just last week, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stepped out with a sparkly Lane-designed engagement ring from her new fiance, Jason Statham, at the Golden Globes.
