Jack Bauer has found a worthy successor.

We may not have a black James Bond yet -- our fingers are still crossed, Idris Elba -- but Fox has tapped Straight Outta Compton star Corey Hawkins to front their 24 reboot, 24: Legacy.

The actor, who played Dr. Dre in the N.W.A. biopic and appears on The Walking Dead, will play Eric Carter, an Army Ranger who joins forces with CTU to stop a large-scale terrorist attack on American soil.

Fox first announced 24: Legacy during the 2016 Winter TCA Press Tour last week. The fact that it will be a complete reboot came as a bit of a surprise, as the 24: Live Another Day event series with Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub performed so well in 2014.

"Never say never, but right now, no," Fox CEO Dana Walden responded when asked if any of the original stars would return. "There's a time-jump. This is a new organization, a new cast of characters, a completely different story in terms of the special ops group we're focusing on...There are nods in the pilot to prior CTU agents, but no ongoing characters."

Then again, if they ever need a ratings boost, they'll know who to call...
