The 34-year-old comedian’s father, Gordon Schumer, came face-to-face with Colin Quinn, who played her old man in Trainwreck, and the actress caught the moment on camera.

Taking to Instagram, she shared a photo of the pair enjoying each other’s company with the caption, “Good friends cereal box,” giving a nod at the Kashi cereal boxes that feature two people smiling on the front.

In the film Trainwreck, Quinn has MS, which was inspired by Gordon Schumer, who suffers from the disease in real life. He was diagnosed with MS when Amy Schumer was 12 years old and he currently resides in an assisted living facility.

"Some days he's really good and he's with it and we're joking around," the actress told Barbara Walters during ABC’s Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2015. "And some days I go to visit my dad and it's so painful. I can't believe it."

"In terms of my dad being sick, it was just confusing to me, especially the way MS works," Schumer admits. "He was in physical pain. That's when I kind of took the lead and took care of everybody in my family. I would keep them – I would keep everybody laughing."

Fans will be getting a more in-depth look into her childhood soon, with Schumer’s upcoming memoir.

In November, she opened up to ET and explained that her book will be humorous but “heavy.” To see what she said about her reported $8-10 million book deal, watch the video below.
