The Oscar winner stopped to talk with ET's Carly Steel on the red carpet, where he opened up about the transition his lovely wife, a human rights attorney, has made to the Hollywood spotlight.

"She does very well with that," the 54-year-old star gushed to ET. "It's hard to do, I think."

George also opened up about Amal’s visit on the Hail, Caesar! set, which happened to be on a day his co-star, Josh Brolin, wasn't around.

"It was on purpose," Clooney joked. "I told her to stay away from Josh, whatever she did."

In Hail, Caesar!, a period piece from the Coen brothers set in 1950s Hollywood, George plays a movie star named Baird Whitlock.

Despite his charm and fame in modern Hollywood, George confessed that he doesn't think he'd fare to well in the show business of yesteryear.

"I'm not particularly the greatest song and dance guy so I wouldn't have survived that well," George admitted. "It certainly was a fun time, [and] I am a big admirer of films of that era, but I am happy right about now."

Hail, Caesar! Hits theaters this Friday.
