The Modern Family star stunned in a strapless black Romona Keveza gown at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday, and notably, left her new scars visible. Winter underwent a breast reduction surgery last June.

"Guys there is a reason I didn't make an effort to cover up my scars!" Winter, who turned 18 last Thursday, tweeted about her gorgeous SAG Awards look. "They are part of me and I'm not ashamed of them at all. :)"

"Thank you all so much for the support, kind words, and happy birthdays! <3" she added.

Winter went from a 32F bra size to a 34D as a result of her surgery, which has alleviated some of the back problems she had because of her large bust size. When ET caught up with her last October, she also admitted she became uncomfortable with the attention her figure had been receiving prior to her procedure.

"I mainly did it for myself," Winter told us about the life-changing decision at the Teen Vogue Young Hollywood party in Beverly Hills, California. "Yes, I had many comments, and it bothered me that that was kind of what I was known for. And that was kind of what people were commenting on my photos. That bothered me, but it wasn't the main reason I did it."

"There's so much in the media [telling people] you have to look a certain way," she continued. "People feel so pressured that if they don't look this way they're not going to be beautiful."

But she couldn't be happier with the results of her surgery.

"I just feel so amazing with all the support I've received," she said. "It's been a wonderful year for me."
