While this might sound like a line from a game of Mad Libs, the spat started when Morgan called the actress out on Wednesday for her outfit at Saturday's SAG Awards
, which he found "horribly inappropriate."
"Would Susan Sarandon wear this to a funeral? No. It was thus horribly inappropriate for an In Memoriam tribute," tweeted the 50-year-old TV personality
, inexplicably waiting several days to complain about the wardrobe choice.
Sarandon, 69, fired back on Thursday with an epic #TBT from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, showing the actress in a white bra. It was the perfect response to what many felt was body-shaming on Morgan's part.
"Today’s #TBT is dedicated to @piersmorgan," Sarandon tweeted.
Morgan responded with his own #TBT: a super creepy shirtless pic from a Burger King commercial he appeared in back in 2009.
Sarandon then pinned her Rocky Horror photo to the top of her Twitter page, and began retweeting other fans who snapped shots of their cleavage in support of the Oscar winner.
Morgan, meanwhile, just kept tweeting about why he was offended by her revealing outfit, and responding to accusations of sexism.
"Seems to be some massive misunderstanding that I am anti-cleavage," he tweeted. "I'm only anti-cleavage during In Memoriam tributes to dead people."
"Key question: would @SusanSarandon have worn that outfit to a funeral or memorial service? Answer: no," Morgan continued. "End of debate. #cleavagegate."
Although the British journalist did make his position on her cleavage exhaustively, uncomfortably clear.
"Just for the record, @SusanSarandon, I think your cleavage is magnificent," Morgan said. "I'd just keep it hidden for 'In Memoriam' tributes. Love Piers."
