Hugh Jackman had another skin cancer scare and posted an Instagram message to fans on Monday to raise awareness about the disease.
“An example of what happens when you don't wear sunscreen,” the 47-year-old actor captioned a selfie, which included his bandaged nose. “Basal Cell. The mildest form of cancer but serious, nonetheless. PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular check-ups.”
This is not the first time Jackman has been treated for skin cancer. He revealed to People last May that since 2013, he’s had four procedures to remove cancerous cells, and he has posted about several of them on social media.
“Deb said to get the mark on my nose checked,” Jackman wrote on another Instagram pic in November 2013 after his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, talked him into getting a checkup. “Boy, was she right! I had a basil [sic] cell carcinoma. Please don't be foolish like me. Get yourself checked. And USE sunscreen!!!”
