The 'Dancing With the Stars' pro explains how she and her husband-to-be make their relationship work.
Julianne Hough is hopelessly devoted to her husband-to-be.
Looking pretty in pink, the actress -- who starred as the beloved Sandy in Fox's Grease: Live last month -- graces the cover of Redbook magazine's March issue. In her revealing interview, Hough couldn't stop gushing over her fiancé, NHL pro Brooks Laich.

"Because of the nature of my career, it's very easy for me to call the shots and 'be the man,'" she explained. "So it's very nice to feel like a strong woman and still have my man be my leading man."
Hough, 27, has been engaged to Laich, 32, since August 2015. The two started dating in December 2013, shortly after Hough called it quits with American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.
The bride-to-be also told the magazine that although she always appears confident and happy, she has her bad days, just like the rest of us.
"I've always been positive. But trust me, I have my days when I just break down and cry -- and I don't even know why I'm crying!" she admitted. "I'm all about embracing those times, too. If you never feel sad about anything, there's nothing dynamic to life -- and that's boring."

"When I was 21, I did and said things because I wanted to be accepted," Hough continued. "But there's a point where you grow up. Now I'm much more honest with myself and other people."

When it comes to romance, Hough has never been shy when talking about Laich in interviews. ET caught up with the triple threat last month ahead of her Grease: Live performance, where she got candid about her private text conversations with her beau.
When asked if she sent any sexy pics of herself in costume to Laich, she quickly responded, "Oh, for sure! I sent like 17, and only of bad Sandy."
