Toby Keith Mourns Death of Beloved Band Member Joey Floyd

Toby Keith lost a loved one over the weekend.

"Our dear friend and band member Joey Floyd passed away this morning after a long battle with cancer," Keith posted to Facebook on Sunday. "There will be a hole on stage and a hole in the hearts of all that loved him. Rest in peace ol' friend."

Floyd played both the banjo and fiddle in the 54-year-old singer's Easy Money Band, and had also worked with Willie Nelson.

also remembered the musician. "Joey Floyd, musician, actor and friend has sadly passed away from cancer. Joey portrayed Willie’s young son in the movie, Honeysuckle Rose, and grew up to be an accomplished musician who played with Willie, and for the last few years he was a member of Toby Keith’s band," read the message. "He will be missed."

Following the death of his friend, Keith is still keeping up with his scheduled performances. According to his Twitter, he will take the stage in San Antonio, Texas, on Monday night.

This is not the first time Keith has mourned the loss of one his band members. On Feb. 27, 2013, the singer's bassist and band leader, Chuck Goff Jr., was killed in a car accident.
