Jeremy Renner tweeted his support of Pink after her International Women's Day message caused controversy.

Pink may have received plenty of backlash for her International Women’s Day post, but one actor is coming to the singer’s aid – Jeremy Renner.

Renner retweeted Pink’s lengthy note to women about valuing their brains over their body, writing, “Strength and honor my lady! #stregnth #honor.”

Pink replied with a fist pound emoji, and Renner added, “.@Pink circle the wagons. We got paths to cross mama. Miss ya,” followed by an emoji face with its tongue sticking out.

Seemingly changing topics, Pink then shared a photo of Renner in his Hawkeye costume, writing, “@Renner4Real I like your new costume if I can weigh in.” He replied, “thanks hon #likeaninja.”

Though at first glance, this may appear to be a random show of support, Pink and Renner go way back. The Avengers star appeared in the pop rocker’s 2003 music video for her song “Trouble” as a sexy sheriff.

The singer stirred up controversy earlier this week when she posted a message that read: “Shout out to all the women, across the world, using their brains, their strength, their work ethic, their talent, their ‘magic’ that they were born with, that only they possess. It may not ever bring you as much ‘attention’ or bank notes as using your body, your sex, your t**s and a**es, but women like you don’t need that kind of ‘attention’.”

The message came just one day after Kim Kardashian posted a buzzed-about nude selfie that set the Internet ablaze with both critics and supporters.

After Pink’s post, former Kardashian nemesis Amber Rose jumped to the reality star’s defense, slamming Pink for her words.

“Damn Pink, we were all born naked, society sexualizes our breast and bodies," Rose wrote in an Instagram post. "If a grown mother of 2 is comfortable with her body and wants to show it off that's none of ur business or anyone else's. ... But please as a grown woman let another grown woman live as she wishes.”

She also called out Pink for her own risqué costumes, noting the double standard in the singer’s words.

"Pink, we've seen u damn near naked swinging from a rope (Beautifully) but what's the difference between a rope, a pole and a pic on Instagram? Classism," Rose continued. "Because u sing while ur half naked does that make it 'Classy' or is it because u have a 'talent?'"

Other stars have come to Kardashian’s defense including Ariel Winter, Emily Ratajkowski, and Abigail Breslin, but Kardashian has sparred with celebs like Bette Midler and Chloe Grace Moretz online after they publicly disapproved of her racy display.
