Selena Gomez has finally spoken out about being named the most-followed person on Instagram on the social media site itself.
Five days after initially revealing the news via Snapchat, the "Hands to Myself" singer finally made the shout-out to her now-70 million Instagram followers on Thursday. She reposted a video taken by her makeup artist, Hung Vanngo, which has "Selena Gomez: The Queen of Instagram" written at the bottom of it, along with two raised hands emojis.
Gomez can be seen flipping her coiffed hair as Vanngo asks his client about her Instagram honor. "It feels so great, Hung!" she answers before bursting into laughter.
The clip ends with Gomez blowing a kiss at the camera, as per a request from Vanngo.
The 23-year-old singer took a moment to show her fans some appreciation while pointing out where the accolade stands in, oh, the grand scheme of things, captioning the video, "THANK YOU guys for all the love! So appreciative. ALSO: just know that I'm fully aware being most followed isn't what's important."
"It's how you use your platform. Not how big it is," she concluded.
By the way, she had 69.1 million followers on Sunday, which means that she's gained 900,000 in less than one week. Seriously.
Girl, keep on doing your thing!
