After the show, Lopez spoke with ET's Sophie Schillaci about the night's emotional performances by finalists La'Porsha Renae and Trent Harmon.

"I can only imagine how [Renae] is feeling, all the emotions, getting to the finale, all the stuff she's overcome," Lopez shared. "Same with Trent. They're both two amazing people who have overcome a lot."

"They're so very different. They're both very privileged voices, they're both great storytellers when they sing. They have so much talent," Lopez gushed. "So you just have to vote for who you like."

The "Feel the Light" singer also talked about her time on the show, and confessed that she couldn't choose a favorite memory from all the wonderful moments she's enjoyed.

On Idol’s star-studded grand finale on Thursday, Lopez is set to perform her new single, “Ain’t Your Mama,” a song she said is “very empowering.”

"Guys have this tendency, once they love you in the beginning and you're the hottest woman on Earth, and then all of a sudden, it's like, 'Okay... where's my food?' It's like, 'What!? Are you kidding me? Take me out! What are you doing right now?,’” Lopez explained.

"But it's a really fun song and everybody seems to be responding to it really well so I'm happy about that," she added.

Along with Lopez's performance, Idol's final night will feature appearances by Idol alums Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Katharine McPhee and Kellie Pickler, among others.
