Sometimes you need a little liquid courage! Emilia Clarke may play the Mother of Dragons on Game of Thrones, but that doesn’t mean she’s confident all the time. The 29-year-old British star visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, to talk about her hit HBO series and being named “The Sexiest Woman Alive” by Esquire magazine back in November.

“That was a funny shoot,” Clarke said of the seductive photos. “Doing those kind of sex scenes on camera is one thing, but doing it as yourself, I need alcohol to do.”

Thankfully, the magazine crew obliged and helped Clarke out during the shoot.

“They just kept giving me vodka,” she said, laughing. “That’s me drunk. That’s me Photoshopped and drunk.”

But Khaleesi is no stranger to nudity. Earlier this week, Clarke attended the Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere in Hollywood, where she declared that she’d like to see more male nudity on the show.

“Damn straight,” she told ET, acknowledging the perceived double standard between male and female nudity. “Khal Drogo hasn’t been around for a while, so yes.”

Despite wanting to see more… err… “members” of Westeros, Clarke noted that she’s incredibly proud to be a part of the series.

"It gets critiqued so often, and I think it's silly because I feel like we are a show at the forefront of feminism being kicked back again into the ether," she told ET. "So many fabulous strong women, so I think we're doing alright."
