The 39-year-old heartthrob returned to Twitter two hours later to let people know that the look was not inspired by Eminem, and was actually a precursor to the rapper's iconic look.
"For the record, Slim Shady was '97. I had Em by a year with the blonde," Manganiello tweeted, before admitting, "@dennisrodman on the other hand..."

After sharing the epic throwback pic, Manganiello began live tweeting Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals between the Pittsburgh Penguins -- his hometown team -- and the San Jose Sharks.
"The Sharks were no match for my secret weapon... @SofiaVergara," Manganiello wrote, celebrating the Penguins' 2-1 win over the Sharks and their 2-0 lead in the series.
Manganiello appears to have recovered after briefly being hospitalized in early May for a "health issue."
Vergara spoked with ET at Modern Family’s ATAS Emmy event soon after news of his medical concerns broke, where the 43-year-old actress said that her husband "had a little problem, but now he's good." Check out the video to hear more.
