Steve Harvey knows how to own a mistake. The comedian took to Twitter on Sunday -- after Miss District of Columbia Deshauna Barber was crowned the new Miss USA -- to poke fun at his own Miss Universe blunder back in December.

"Soooooooo - I was a few months early with my announcement and forgot "District of," Harvey tweeted, referring to his infamous mistake of incorrectly naming Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutiérrez, the new Miss Universe, before having to admit that he'd misspoken and the real winner was Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach.

After that, Harvey earnestly congratulated Barber on her victory, retweeting the announcement from the Miss USA organization.

Harvey's embarrassing mistake, which was referenced several times throughout Sunday’s pageant by hosts Julianne Hough and Terrence J, was also the focus of a sketch at the start of the show.

In the short bit, Harvey is helping Terrence prep for his hosting gig by handing him a card with the words "and the winner is Miss Colombia," which Harvey smacks out of his hands immediately.

"What did I just tell you?" Harvey scolds Terrence. "I said, 'Don't say Miss Colombia.' I don't care if they hand you a card-- they handed me the card. I said it. When they hand you the card, don't say, 'Miss Colombia.'"

Luckily, Terrence J and Hough had no screw-ups when they announced Barber as the winner, while Miss Hawaii, Chelsea Hardin, and Miss Georgia, Emanii Davis, came in as the first and second runners-up.
