Bindi Irwin traded her khakis for a gorgeous black and white, semi-formal getup.
Steve Irwin's daughter shared a photo of her posing with a huge bird, and expressed her desire to help preserve natural habitats. "I'm grateful for each moment and the life I have been given to lead. I hope every day that I'm able to empower more individuals to stand up for what they believe in, and change the world," the 17-year-old conservationist -- whose family started the Australia Zoo -- wrote on Sunday. "We have one planet, one chance, to create a beautiful future, for those yet to walk in our footsteps."

One person who was impressed with Irwin's work was her former Dancing With the Stars partner, Derek Hough, who paid a visit to the Australia Zoo last year. "Its amazing just to see the work they do here. It's so much more than a zoo," he told ET at the time. "The work they do here is incredible, and the care, the love, they put in with the animals. It's awesome."
It's been a big year for Irwin. After winning season 21 of Dancing With the Stars with Hough in November 2015, she revealed to ET in May that she's already getting a head start on her education. "I'm really lucky because I'm already taking college courses," she shared. "It's something that I've been really thrilled about. I've been kind of doing [it] behind the scenes, and I'm thrilled to have a certificate in business now. I'm just finishing my certificate in tourism. So I'm really happy about that!"
