A private funeral was held for Anton Yelchin on Friday, ET can confirm.
Friends and family said goodbye to the 27-year-old actor, while one of Yelchin's best friends gave the eulogy.
The service took place five days after Yelchin's tragic death -- the actor was struck by his car and pinned to a security fence in the driveway of his Los Angeles home last Sunday. A coroner confirmed the cause of death to be traumatic asphyxia, a condition arising from intense compression on the chest.
Since his death, Yelchin's friends and Star Trek co-stars have reacted to the loss on social media, writing kind notes of remembrance.
"Your sudden and unexpected departure has left us all broken hearted," Yelchin's Star Trek co-star Zoe Saldana shared via Instagram on Thursday. "I woke up today feeling absolute gratitude that I had you as a friend and colleague…It was an honor to have crossed paths with you."
Your sudden and unexpected departure has left us all broken hearted. I woke up today feeling absolute gratitude that I had you as a friend and colleague. Your life has been cut short, but I will always tell everyone about you. You were kind, present, old souled, curious, brilliant, funny, humble, honest, and undeniably talent. Good bye Anton, it was an honor to have crossed paths with you.
Zachary Quinto expressed similar sentiments on his Instagram, posted several days earlier. "Our dear friend. Our comrade. Our Anton. One of the most open and intellectually curious people I have ever had the pleasure to know. So enormously talented and generous of heart. Wise beyond his years and gone before his time. All love and strength to his family at this impossible time of grief," he wrote.
