In her interview, McGraw makes it clear she isn't just Dr. Phil's wife -- she's got a lot going on herself.

The 62-year-old New York Times best-selling author started her own lifestyle brand in 2014, Robin McGraw Revelation, first launching the beauty side of the brand with skincare products.

"When I started, I knew I wanted something that would be easy to use and that worked," she tells the magazine. "I've had many people over the years ask what I do to take care of my skin, so I wanted to create the same regime that works for me and that I believed in." And the brand is fast expanding, as McGraw will be releasing new luxury skincare products in the fall.

With new line, the philanthropist hopes to empower women to embrace their beauty, health, and happiness without guilt, and for McGraw, it's making an impact through helping others that helps her embrace her own beauty. "If I can reach out and help to change someone's life by being who I am and helping in whatever way I can, knowing that I've done my best, that is when I feel beautiful," she says.

And McGraw has done just that -- creating a philanthropic foundation, When Georgia Smiled, to accompany her lifestyle brand. The foundation was named after her mother and focuses on helping victims of domestic violence.

"Growing up with an alcoholic father, I lived a life of uncertainty," she shares. "But the one constant thing I knew I could count on was my mother, [Georgia], and that smile she would have on her face. It didn't matter how scared or uncertain I was, if she was smiling, it couldn't be that bad."

McGraw's experiences watching her mother suffer through domestic abuse inspired her to create several tools to help those in similar situations -- one of them being an app.

And that app, Aspire News, came about with a little help from Dr. Phil himself. "Phillip and I came up with the concept for the app while sitting around the kitchen table talking one morning," she explains, adding that the impact the app has had -- Aspire News has been downloaded more than 300,000 around the world, and was recognized on Capitol Hill for its efforts to end domestic violence -- is one of her proudest accomplishments.

It seems that McGraw and her husband make a great team!
