The “Sorry” singer played the 49 victims’ names on a screen behind him as he sang his song “Purpose.” After starting off the tune sitting next to his cheering Beliebers, Justin stood up and walked toward the screen, facing the names. One of the names was that of singer Christina Grimmie, who died in a shooting in Orlando the day before the Pulse attacks and who was a close personal friend of Justin’s ex Selena Gomez.

He also flashed the message “#OrlandoStrong” on the screen behind him, posting a photo of the backdrop to Twitter.
