Cue the fireworks: Katy Perry is officially Twitter royalty!
The "Roar" singer became the first user to reach an impressive 90 million followers on Friday, and the milestone didn't go down without a few celebratory tweets.
"It's party time, @katyperry!" a message from Twitter’s official account read. "With 90 million on the guest list, we're gonna need a really big dance floor."
The 31-year-old pop star, who remains the most-followed user on the site, was quick to respond, retweeting the message and writing, "Dang this is tight."
Immediately following the accomplishment, #Katy90GIFParty started trending, where fans began congratulating the California native with their favorite animated images of the diva. Many featured pics of her dancing, winking and placing a sparkly tiara on her head, as a queen of Twitter should do!
Following close behind Perry is Justin Bieber with 83.9 million followers, and her rumored frenemy, Taylor Swift, with 79 million followers.
Ironically, some of Perry's most retweeted posts, which you can see below, involve mentions of the "Sorry" singer. She also gets a lot of love from tweets about One Direction.
Perry's Twitter account also made headlines in May when it was hacked by a user tweeting out vulgar messages, including a shout-out to Swift that read "miss you baby."
Luckily, the mishap didn't cause Perry to give up her well-deserved Twitter crown. Watch the video below to hear more.
