Sad news for former Married at First Sight contestants Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner.

Otis announced on Wednesday that she suffered a miscarriage, just one week after the couple announced they were expecting their first child together, and that 30-year-old Otis was four months pregnant.

"Our Baby Hehner was just too beautiful for earth," Otis, 30, wrote on Instagram. "I love him so much -- ALWAYS will -- and can't wait to meet him in heaven one day. Please pray for us."

The registered nurse shared the sad news alongside a heartbreaking message reading, "An angel opened up the book of life and wrote down my baby's birth. Then she whispered as she closed the book, 'He's too beautiful for Earth.'"

"Please pray for Doug, me, and our baby Hehner," she also tweeted earlier.

Earlier this month, Otis excitedly told ET she and 35-year-old Hehner were "beyond thrilled" about the pregnancy. "We went through a lot of ups and downs, but going through the hard times only made us stronger," she said.

Otis called having a child the "biggest dream" of her life in an emotional blog post announcing her pregnancy.

"Anyone who has been following our journey on Married At First Sight and MAFS: The First Year knows how much I've wanted to be a mommy," she wrote. "It's really been my biggest dream in life."

Last month, Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel opened up to ET about suffering a miscarriage prior to separating from her now estranged husband, Jason Hoppy.

"I never knew how common miscarriages are, and how many women have them and just don't say anything about it," she said. "I definitely felt like I went through that alone. That was definitely a negative time in my house."
