Ladies and gentlemen, the power of a good Snapchat filter!

Laverne Cox knows this all too well, as the Orange is the New Black star was recently the target of critics who accused her of getting a nose job.

The actress took to Instagram on Tuesday to set the record straight, attributing her appearance to Snapchat's beauty filter.

"For everyone who thinks I had a nose job, the surgeon is snapchat," she explained, along with a side by side pic of herself with and without a filter. "I try to love, embrace and accept myself everyday, filter or no filter, makeup or no makeup, weave or no weave."

"Filters are fun but they are no substitute for me waking up, looking in the mirror and seeing the unfiltered me as beautiful and worthy of acceptance and love," she said, adding the hashtag "#TransIsBeautiful."

While Cox made it clear she hasn't undergone any facial transformations, her approach to acting has transformed since the latest season of Orange Is the New Black.

"This season was really special to me," Cox revealed to ET in May. "Lately, I've been thinking of acting as channeling, allowing myself to be a vessel for human experience, emotion, flaws, and circumstance."

The 32-year-old actress also opened up about her groundbreaking role following her SAG award win earlier this year, fighting back tears as she recalled her "struggle to survive" and how far she's come.
