Godmother Monster! Lady Gaga has taken on a new role -- that of godmother. The “Applause” singer took to Instagram early Monday to celebrate the special family moment, posting a sweet black and white photo with her baby goddaughter.

“So proud to be made one of the Godmother’s of our little angel Sistilia. @briannewmanny and his Wife Angie have been my friends since we were kids on the lower east side. It was a beautiful baptism and Italian style feast. We love u sissy!” she captioned the shot on Instagram.
In the photo, Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, was wearing a white button-up shirt with baby’s breath flowers in her hair.
The New York native also shared a photo with her dad and childhood pals, writing, “The boys are back in town. Love that my daddy hangs out w my crew. Or that I hang out w his…I’m not sure anymore!”

It’s been a difficult time for the singer lately, after she confirmed her split from fiancé Taylor Kinney last week. Gaga asked her fans to root for their relationship as they take a break.
“We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Please root us on. We’re just like everybody else and we really love each other.”
