Drop the Mic three-way! On Wednesday night, James Corden invited two famous guests to The Late Late Show to compete in his new headline-making skit “Drop the Mic.” Corden brought out fellow Brit Cara Delevingne and actor Dave Franco to challenge him in the rap battle.
The pair were game and didn’t attempt to hold back. Corden kicked things off by getting in Franco’s face.
“Don’t worry, there’s still time, you’ll get discovered, but I’m pretty sure we actually meant to book your brother,” he said of actor James Franco. Corden then turned on Delevingne, rapping, “You’re perfect for Suicide Squad, I’m being heartfelt, because when I see you try to act it makes me want to kill myself.”
The supermodel wasted no time responding, “You’ll kill yourself, you promise? Is that a fact? I’ve never heard a better reason for me to act. I can see it now, the headlines about me, ‘Cara Delevingne: The Woman Who Saved Late Night TV.’”
Franco was not going to be one-upped, ripping into the Suicide Squad star, saying, “Cara Delevingne part of Taylor Swift’s scene, well here’s some ‘Bad Blood’ if you think I’m being mean. You think that you’re an actor in movies right now? Trying to hide an accent thicker than your eyebrows.”
He also called Corden “a less talented, much fatter Mr. Bean.”
Corden clapped back telling Franco, “The only funny thing you’ve been in is Alison Brie,” in reference to the actor’s fiancée.
Delevingne tried to get in the last word, rapping, “You’re both shorter than me and I think you’ll find, I’ve hooked up with hotter girls than both of you combined.”
But Franco was the one who got back at Corden, spitting, “Beat me in a battle? That’s a reach. You’d have to steal lines from Michelle Obama’s speech.”
