News of Hayes' accident first spread when his brother, Nash, tweeted updates asking fans for their support.

"#PrayforHayes Just got a call on set that said Hayes was in a crash. He's now in the hospital," Nash tweeted out on Thursday.

"Damn I hate hearing sh*t like that on the phone scared me to death," he posted minutes later.

The 18-year-old Vine star posted a screenshot of a text with his step-father, Johnnie Floyd, shortly after, updating followers on Hayes' condition.

"Your brother is pretty busted up right now. Luckily no major stuff. All scans came back negative for any internal bleeding. He does have a concussion, fractured top two ribs and bruised lung on one side. He is in a lot of pain," the text read.

Both Nash and Hayes were expected to attend Tiger Beat's pre-Teen Choice Awards party in Los Angeles on Thursday night.
