Looking flawlessly stunning in a revealing black lace number and Guiseppe Zanotti heels, the model opened up about her battle with body image while chatting to ET at the mag's glitzy event honoring the Hot 100 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on Saturday.
“I think everybody goes through insecurities when they’re younger, and everybody has to grow into their body,” Maxwell said. “We’re all in the same boat, so I think it’s a phase we all go through, then we grow out of it and grow into ourselves.”
The Belgium-born, New Zealand-raised beauty added that she has grown stronger since her insecure teenage years.
“It’s a beautiful thing to go through those phases, because you learn a lot about yourself,” she told ET.
It's clear Maxwell is more confident than ever, as she graces the latest Maxim cover wearing nothing but a skimpy thong, gold breast plate and choker.
In addition to modeling for Vogue UK and Glamour and doing ad campaigns for Alexander McQueen and H&M, the 25-year-old model has also made headlines for rumored romantic liaisons with Miley Cyrus and Kristen Stewart. Nonetheless, it’s the Maxim cover which she is perhaps most proud of.
“It’s pretty cool,” she said, before heading inside to host the exclusive party, attended by Mel B, Iggy Azalea, Nick Cannon and Amber Rose. “It’s a huge honor to be on the cover and I’m just really stoked and happy that I’ve had the opportunity to do it.”
