Adriana Lima Gets Emotional Carrying Olympic Torch Through Rio Ahead of Opening Ceremony

Adriana Lima and Alessandra Ambrosio are back in their homeland of Brazil to get in on the festivities of Rio's Summer Olympics.

Ahead of the opening ceremony on Friday night, the supermodels got the opportunity to carry the torch past some of the country's most historic landmarks.

On Thursday night, Lima, 35, teared up as she carried the torch through Rio. "I am grateful to experience this incredible honor and dream to carry the Olympic torch," she Instagrammed. "So humbled to be carrying in my home country Brazil" #rio2016 #olimpíadas2016 #TEAMLIMA."

On Friday, it was Ambrosio's turn to carry the torch and she brought along her two adorable children, daughter Anja and son Noah. "So honored and excited to carry the #Olympic torch in my home country #Brasil #RIO2016 #ThatsGold," the 35-year-old captioned a photo of herself posing with the torch.

These Brazilian beauties have been monitoring the flame that will light up the Olympic cauldron at the three-hour opening ceremony held at Maracana Stadium. Supermodel Gisele Bundchen is to be on hand as well as GRAMMY winners Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil.

This year's Summer Olympics includes 10,500 athletes with a record 207 teams. The United States has the biggest team with 554 athletes.
