Let that sink in for a second. Channing Tatum in a purple mermaid tale. Earlier this week, we learned the Magic Mike XXL actor would star in Disney's gender-swapped remake of the 1984 classic, Splash. Now, if wife Jenna Dewan Tatum is to be believed, he will be wearing a purple mermaid tale.
"That time I was trying on @channingtatum costume for Splash and everyone thought I was announcing a pregnancy #tbt" she wrote alongside the photo.

Channing posted the original shot on Dec. 18 and captioned it, "Happening," so there's no way to know if it is actually related to the project, but Jenna did retweet a fan who tweeted, "Channing's Splash merman having a fuchsia tail feels like too much to hope for. HE'S ALREADY GIVEN US SO MUCH."
The remake stars Channing opposite his 22 Jump Street co-star, Jillian Bell. We know that he is taking over the Daryl Hannah role, while she'll play the Tom Hanks part -- and ancient lore and the songs of sailors tell us that mermen are often shirtless. So, expect that, too.
