The U.S. Olympic Team confirmed the news via Twitter on Saturday.

Biles was clearly excited by the opportunity, but couldn't pass up the chance to reach out to her crush one last time.

"Hey @ZacEfron," she tweeted Saturday morning. "I'm carrying the flag for closing ceremony!! Will you still be here?"

Unfortunately Efron has already headed home, but said he'd be there with the Olympian in spirit.

"Congrats! You deserve it Simone!" he replied. "Had to head home for work, but I'll be there in spirit. Carry that fire."

Biles' relationship with Efron has been just as publicized as her many medals this Olympic Games.

The athlete hasn't been shy about her crush on the 28-year-old actor, even admitting to having a cardboard cut-out of him in her bedroom.

The two had been communicating through Twitter throughout the Olympics, finally meeting in person on Tuesday at the Today show -- when Efron surprised Biles and the rest of the gymnastics team.

"Their story just blew my mind," the Neighbors 2 star told Hoda Kotb and Matt Lauer on his reason for flying down to Rio. "When I found out Simone and the team were fans, I was like, 'What kind of a guy am I if I don't show up?'"
