Jessa (Duggar) Seewald Is Pregnant With Second Child
By Jackie Willis
The Duggars are expanding their family yet again.
Jessa (Duggar) Seewald and her husband Ben Seewald confirmed to ET on Tuesday that they are expecting their second child. "We are overjoyed to announce that Spurgeon has a new title in life as 'big brother'!" the couple said in a statement. "We are so thankful that God is adding to our family. 2017 is shaping up to be a wonderful year already and we know Spurgeon will do a great job in his new role. Having Spurgeon has been such a wonderful blessing and we cannot wait to see the face of this sweet new baby (or babies!)."
The Counting On stars also shared the news in a video announcement on TLC's website. "We both kind of feel at this point that it's a boy but we haven't had an ultrasound to find yet," Jessa exclaimed. "I think, probably, I won't be able to wait until baby is born to know the gender. We haven't decided yet if we're going to share that news with everybody or keep it a secret again."
Jessa, 23, and Ben, 21, welcomed their son Spurgeon last November, right around the time of their one-year wedding anniversary. "I think Spurgeon will be a great big brother," Ben
gushed. "He'll learn a lot of valuable
lessons having a little sibling. Yeah, we're really excited about that."
Ben admits that they "really have no idea" what they'll name their baby-to-be, and are open to "suggestions."
In a recent promo for TLC's Counting On, the couple revealed that they were looking to adopt but also hinted that new things
were on the horizon for their family. "Ben and I have had it on our
hearts to adopt. That was something we talked about even before we were
even married," Jessa admits. "We don't know exactly what we're getting
into, but we're excited to start the journey."
Meanwhile, Jessa's sister Jill (Duggar) Dillard and her husband Derick Dillard have also expressed that they too are trying for baby number two. "We are trying to have another child," Jill shares in another Counting On promo.
Derick adds, "I think we'll have another kid by next year."
