Marvel's black, female Iron Man has a new name!
Riri Williams, the 15-year-old heroine set to replace Tony Stark in the long-running Iron Man series, will be known as Ironheart.
The teenage superhero is expected to debut in the Invincible Iron Man #1 comic book in November, writer Brian Michael Bendis revealed in a Wired interview on Monday.
According to Bendis, the name Ironheart was chosen because it "speaks not only to the soul of the character but to the Iron Man franchise as a whole."
It’s unclear when Ironheart will transition from comic books to the silver screen, but Disney actress Skai Jackson wouldn’t mind taking on that role.
