Amber Heard has dropped her lawsuit against ex-husband Johnny Depp’s friend Doug Stanhope.
The 30-year-old actress filed a defamation case against Stanhope in June, in which she alleged that the comedian had accused her of blackmailing Depp in an online column he wrote titled “Johnny Depp Is Being Blackmailed by Amber Heard – Here’s How I Know.”
“Doug is happy that Amber is dropping the case against him,” Stanhope’s lawyer, David Gingras, tells ET. “It looks like Amber and Johnny have resolved things. He is pleased both parties are moving forward.”
“He is sorry there was a falling out, but is happy that everyone is taking the high road and moving on,” continued Gingras.
The news comes as 53-year-old Depp’s friend, musician Marilyn Manson, has spoken about the split to The Daily Beast, saying that Depp was “completely crucified -- unjustly” during his divorce.
Depp and Heard settled their divorce last month for $7 million, which Heard is donating to charity. "Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love," Heard and Depp said in a joint statement. "Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains. There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm."
